Dezain Radar

Privacy

Last updated: 2026

Dezain Radar is designed to need very little from you. This policy explains what data we process, why, and the rights you have, regardless of where you are located. We aim to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU/UK), the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA (CCPA/CPRA, USA), Brazil's LGPD, Canada's PIPEDA, Japan's APPI, Australia's Privacy Act, and analogous data-protection frameworks worldwide.

Who is the data controller

Dezain Radar operates this service as the data controller (or equivalent role under your local law) for any personal data described below. You can contact us at dezainradar@proton.me.

What we collect and why

Anonymous browsing. No account is required. Standard server logs (such as IP address, user agent, timestamp, and requested URL) may be processed transiently by our infrastructure providers for security, abuse prevention, and operational diagnostics. These logs are not used to build advertising profiles.

Local browser storage. If you bookmark articles or play the Signal game, an anonymous identifier is stored in your browser (localStorage) to associate your bookmarks and scores with your device. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser storage. No personal data is transmitted with this identifier.

Donations. Donations are processed entirely by PayPal. Dezain Radar does not receive, see, or store your payment-card details. PayPal acts as an independent controller of any data you submit to them; please review their privacy policy.

Legal bases for processing

Where required (e.g. under GDPR/UK GDPR), we rely on the following legal bases: legitimate interests for security, abuse prevention, and operating the service; consent for any optional features that store data on your device beyond what is strictly necessary; and compliance with legal obligations where applicable.

Cookies and similar technologies

Dezain Radar does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels. Only strictly necessary local storage is used for features you actively use (bookmarks, game state, reader preferences).

Sharing and international transfers

We do not sell or share personal data for cross-context behavioural advertising as defined under the CCPA/CPRA. Data may be processed by infrastructure providers (hosting, database, email delivery) located in countries that may differ from your own. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised by your local law, such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.

Retention

Operational logs are retained only for as long as necessary for security and diagnostics and then deleted or anonymised. Data stored locally in your browser remains until you delete it. Email correspondence is retained only as long as needed to respond.

Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, rectify, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, the right to withdraw consent, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. California residents have additional rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and limit the use of sensitive personal information. To exercise any of these rights, contact dezainradar@proton.me. We will respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 16 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
